Last night as we were going to bed, I was cracking up and I wanted so badly to get back on the computer and write a blog post. You know what? I think I should just end this post now and let you use your imagination! 🙂
Do you remember back in November when I went to Louisiana and brought the wrong computer cord? What happened was this: I had gotten a new computer a few months before I left. Vince had set up everything on the new computer. He had taken my old computer and he was going to use it but never had. He had not taken the cord to the old computer. That cord was still left plugged into the power strip. I didn’t realize there were two computer cords in the strip. It sits kinda behind my chair and I can barely reach it. So, when I was packing up my computer to bring to Louisiana, I unplugged the end from the computer, dropped it to the floor, reached behind my chair, pulled out what I thought was the only computer cord plugged in. It was only after I got to Louisiana that I realized there had to have been two cords plugged in.
Vince was not happy that I wanted to go buy a new computer cord. “I am NOT spending $50 because you cannot bring the right cord!” I told him . . I’m willing to accept partial responsibility but you should have taken the cord to the computer you took and left just one cord . . the cord I was using. No . . he proceeded to tell me that any time you unplug anything, you “trace” the cord from the computer to the electric plug and make SURE you are getting the right cord.
Forget it . . Not arguing . . just bought a new cord and I was happy.
Fast forward three months. Last night Vince went to plug in his computer. Wrong cord. Oh, my . . I really had to bite my tongue. I wanted to laugh. I wanted to explain to him how he should trace the cord back from the computer to the electric plug to be SURE he was getting the right cord. He knew what I was thinking! He said “This is the cord that was by this computer!” Hmmm . . maybe you should have traced it . . I didn’t say anything but he knew what I was thinking.
He asked to use the cord to my computer. I gave it to him. Didn’t fit. Then I remembered that the “wrong” computer cord was still in my computer bag. I hadn’t used the bag since I was in Louisiana in November. I pulled it out. It fit. I said “Karma”! Vince said “What does that mean? and I said “Karma is my good friend!”

I would have *wanted* to hold my tongue, but I don’t know that I could have. That’s a great post, too. This is why people keep reading your blog, even if the topics change!
