The yarn has been found, in the stash, for the first Sock Society sock.
It’s Sweet Georgia, Tough Love Sock and the color is Wisteria. These are going to be some pretty socks. I love wisteria. I should probably try to grow some here . . except I’ve spent my garden budget for the next two month. I need to check and see if I can get some cuttings from someone else’s plant and root them. Even if the answer is yes, it probably takes 40 years for them to grow and bloom from a cutting . . and I don’t have 40 years left. On second thought, forget about growing anything . . I need to knit more and faster.

Plant one (from a cutting) anyway. You’re planting for the enjoyment of the next owner! I’m (mostly) grateful to the previous owner of my house for planting the 17 rose bushes and thousands of daffodils I have, because I certainly wouldn’t have had the time or energy to plant them all! 🙂 I say “mostly” because the roses are a pain to prune. They are very pretty though, and I love the look of all the daffodils in the spring.

My yarn for my socks came today. I had a $10 credit at a store (Erica’s) that just happens to have yarn and I got 2 skeins of an Italian sock yarn called Cervinia in a rose and beige variegated that should make some really nice socks.

I just finished a pair of socks with Sweet Georgia yarn and my knitting looked fabulous! I figured it must be the yarn because none of my other socks have looked that good. 🙂 Did you pick that color because the patterns are botanically inspired? I got gift cards for Christmas from a local shop — I may need to go get something bright tomorrow for the first pair! Thanks for the idea… they’re having a sale because of the Super Bowl. Since I don’t care about either team this year, I’ll do some yarn shopping instead.
