The fickle one . . that’s me. One post I’m complaining about yarn in tubs. The next post I’m loving being surrounded by yarn.
The yarn I ordered for my secret project . . 6 skeins of the same color. The is Madelinetosh yarn. Hand dyed. No dye lots and obviously, some of these skeins are different.
There are three skeins like the one on the left and three skeins like the one on the right. I can alternate skeins. It isn’t what I wanted to do with this project but I don’t think I have a choice.
As I had this yarn spread out, thinking about how to handle it, there were several skeins or partial skeins sitting around, either from projects I’m working on, or have recently finished, or yarn that has escaped from the yarn tubs. I was surprised at how well so many of these random skeins worked with this blue/gray yarn.
I have no idea what I would make but I love the olivey and blue and ecru in this skein.
This is the Electric Rainbow that I’m using in my fade shawl. I’m so in love with this color. It’s one of those colors that I want to order . . lots of it . . for no particular project but I just want to have it. There are so many colors that would work with this yarn.
These are two different brands but the blue/bray in the left skein is a perfect match to the skein in the right.
This one is another speckle being used in my fade project.
The funny thing is if I were trying match yarn to this blue/gray skein, I’d probably not be able to find anything. Now, everything that I see matches it. Funny how things like that happen.

You didn’t ask, but a really interesting 2 colour Shawl is Apres LA Pluie. Great set up and a great shawl that sits beautifully on the shoulders. I have knitted it twice.

It is so funny how different th he yarn looks after you wind it. Some doesn’t even look like could be the same . Love the first one sound but all are pretty and I’m not a blue person generally.

I recently finished a sweater using that Madeline Tosh Water Well color. I didn’t realize that there was a difference in the skeins until I was done with the body of the sweater. I forged on and it came out okay, some pooling of color, but overall okay.
