After finishing Addie’s socks this afternoon, I picked up my Free Your Fade project.
This is knit flat and I found it easier to “fade” when knitting in the round. I could knit one row or three rows before changing yarns but with it flat, I either have to knit two rows (right side and wrong side) or cut the yarn and end up with more tails so I ended up with striping. I could have kept working the white longer and tried to switch to the green while at a point in the white yarn that had more green in it . . but this is a learning process and it’s fun and I’m using leftover yarn from the fade socks so . . it’s all good.
I’m in the middle of transitioning from yarn #2 to yarn #3.

Judy if you are knitting flat on a circular needle you knit with colour A then go back to the right and knit a row with colour B then purl back with A and then B. The fade might be more gradual.
