This fox is a regular at the water tank. He’s kinda funny. He’s out there during the day sometimes. I guess he’s given up on trying to get the chickens or, maybe he’s just a nice fox.
Isn’t he cute? I told Vince tonight that I’m going to try to tame him. Vince said NO! From the way he’s looking, I think he might be checking out the chickens. Maybe he isn’t a nice fox!
I don’t know if this is the same fox. It’s hard to tell with different lighting. This one was out drinking water at 3:33 p.m. The chickens were out for sure then. We need to put more water in the tank so he’s not having to jump up on the edge to get water. There’s a board in there so if he falls in, he can get out. We aim to please around here!
It’s really hard to tell in this picture if it’s the same fox. He’s perched right up on the edge though. If it doesn’t rain today (it may . . but it never does), I’ll turn on the water to the tank and make sure it’s full.

He is cute!! Too cute to be your friend!! I agree with Vince! Keep him away from chickens .. they mean no harm.. we have one who cuts through our yard daily about 3:30- 5:30 we just stay calm… he is out looking for food does the same path.. we have a town forest behind us..amazing we have a neighbor who will shoot them if he sees them because he despises them!

We also have a fox! She appears out front about every 3rd day waiting for her hand out! I’ve got some great pictures! We buy day old french bread at Walmart’s and I cut off a big hunk for her along with meat scraps when she shows up. When she first showed up she had one almost grown kit in tow. I guess she ran it off because she’s now alone. Interesting read if you google Texas foxes. 4 kinds, including a tiny fox no bigger than a house cat! Our fox has the black tip on her tail so she’s the grey fox. Lagniappe, she keeps the mouse population down!
