While looking for something else on the blog this morning, I came across this post. I’m sharing it here because I’ve mentioned the Red Tag Man from MO and those who weren’t reading my blog then don’t know why I lived in fear of the Red Tag Man.
The other day I was looking at homes for sale in Nevada, MO and I came across one that I liked a lot. I sent Vince the link. The prices there are so low and you can get so much house for so little. Vince says “There’s a reason!” He looked at it and asked me to contact the realtor there that we like and ask her about it. I sent her the link and asked for more info. Here’s a bit of our conversation:
“Not even take a house if they are giving them away?” I ask you this . . do you seriously think there’s ANYTHING Vince would not accept if it were free? Is there anything Vince will not buy if it’s on sale? So .. if I can get a 5,000 square foot house that needs nothing done to it for less than $250K . . I feel like there’s a chance Vince would buy it, even if it’s in Nevada, MO so that’s why I haven’t given up.
Since he asked me to ask the realtor about it, I feel like there’s some chance . . like 1%, that he might eventually accept that at least buying a second house there would make me very happy. A 5,000 square foot house is a bit much for a second home but since the house in Texas is so small, what’s wrong with having a bigger house for the second house? We could take the longarm (since I use it SO much . . NOT!) and all the fabric.
But, having a second house means no chickens, it probably means Cat and Thief would run away from home, we wouldn’t have a garden at either place so . . maybe it’s not a second house that I want. When I get to this point in my discussion with Vince about anything, he always says “What I said 20 years ago is still true . . you don’t know what the h*ll you want!” And it’s true. My ideas, plans, dreams change every day so he can make the hard decisions and I’ll be happy.
But, I still think if they were giving away houses in Nevada, he’d take one! Don’t you agree?

I’ve always said I don’t want two houses. My husband would like one in Arizona (we’re in Washington – cold, rainy winters), but I say NO!! I like my friends here. I like my routines here. My family is here. I don’t want the upkeep in two places. If we need to get a break from the weather I say take a vacation! Of course I don’t have Addie where my second house would be.

Yes he would take it! I think he is just testing you to see how far you will go! When the right house comes along, you will know it and it will be perfect for both of you! I just hope that is several years in the future!! LOL
