We have another cat hanging around. I can’t get a picture of it. It’s been around for at least a year but he (and I have no idea if it’s a he or she) has his own food bowl so I think it’s safe to say that we have another cat. His name is “Thief” because he’s been stealing Cat’s food. I always feed Cat in the morning but she’s been begging for food in the afternoon. She’s gotten pretty fat but I figured with it being so cold, it’s probably better for her to be full than hungry. Then I noticed that Vince was feeding her more than she was eating and that’s when Thief made a habit of coming around every evening. I haven’t seen Thief in the mornings but every evening, he’s out there, waiting to be fed.
Speaking of Cat, she has gotten so spoiled. We turned the heat lamp on for her during the single digit cold nights. Now, she sits over there under the light and meows and whines til we turn it on for her. I was going out in the mornings about daylight, feeding the chickens, feeding Cat and turning off her light but she’s squawking about that. She wants the light on unless it’s about 80° out there.
I had been working to try to pick her up a little and now she lets me pick her up completely . . all four feet off the ground. I’m thinking that as soon as it’s warm enough that I can sit outside and knit on the porch, she’ll be my constant outside companion.
She’s a funny cat and she doesn’t seem to mind having Thief around. I guess the next cat that shows up, we’ll name Joker and then we’ll have the Joker, the Thief and . . Cat. 🙂

remember what i told you? there’s no such thing as one cat. they’re like wire hangers – one becomes two, two becomes three, etc.
