When I go to my knitting group on Tuesday, I always take several projects. Today I took a pair of Rye socks, a pair of pink socks and my Hue Shift Afghan.
The first one I pulled out of the bag was the Hue Shift Afghan but I had finished a block and left the needles at home.
Then I began working on the Rye socks. The worsted weight yarn hurts my hands because I’m using small needles so I worked a while on that and then quit.
The pink socks were all that was left so I started working on those. I’m using magic loop and the cables are really too short for two at a time, magic loop but that’s what I worked on til time to leave.
How can I have three projects and not have anything that works? I hope I remember to change those needles on the pink socks before next week.
After getting home, I began working in the Hue Shift Afghan.
The ESK Knit Along instructions say that we need to get 8 – 9 blocks done per month to be finished, border and all, by the December 25 deadline.
I now have 11 blocks done so I’m calling it good for January. I’m betting that by the end of February I’ll have the first quadrant, or 25 block done, depending on how much knitting time I get while in Louisiana.
To me, it all looks very “Christmasy” right now but I’ll get out of the reds and greens soon. The next color is gold, which will probably continue the Christmas look but after that is orange, and then rust. It’s really hard to stop working on this project. Even now, I’m tired and need to get to bed and I keep thinking . . start just one more block . . but I’m not.
Goodnight from Texas!

It’s fun to watch this grow, and figure out what colors are going to be in that corner square. It’s funny how the pink looks different with each green.
Is it some kind of contest? (with prizes, maybe?). I ask because of the Christmas “deadline.”

I’m loving this project. It’s addictive. I’m halfway thru the 5th block – also working on Harvest, a Tin Can sweater that needs to be done by the end of Feb or March (can’t remember right now). We’re heading for Texas in a few days and I need a car project – for me that means super simple – probably start another shawl.
