Yesterday Nicole sent me this picture.
It reminded me of this picture.
The bottom one was taken the day Vince and I were leaving MO to move to Texas. I know what they were thinking . . Finally, we’re on our own!
Somewhere along the way, during the next 6-1/2 years, reality set in. They had to pay their own bills. They had to find their own places to live. They had to make big decisions. They had a baby who grew into a little girl who runs the household.
Some things have changed a lot, some things have hardly changed at all. It makes me so happy to see them happy. Vince and I were watching a show the other night and the kids had grown up to be not so good adults. It made me feel really blessed that Chad is such a good guy, he has a great wife . . one that I can get along with and one that I love spending time with. And Addie .. I couldn’t have asked for a better granddaughter.
The only thing I could ask for is to be living closer to them. In fact, I asked about that the other night and that didn’t go over so well. I don’t see it happening. Vince has said when he retires, we’ll go there more often. I’m holding him to it!

For sure hold him to it .. and then some. My hubs said the same thing ..He’s not retired yet , but we see the granddaughters maybe once a year, if we are lucky now!!

Great photos of a great couple! I am happy for them to get settled in their new home with Addie and Speck! Then you and Vince and Rita can do road trips have retiree adventures – my in laws did that! Had a ball! Addie will love that!
