Another three blocks done on the Hue Shift Afghan. Of course, it’s a late night photo and the colors aren’t right. I lightened it up a bit so the green shows. Ughh . . as I’m looking at this picture, I see that I made a mistake in the top right block, thankfully near the edge. Two rows of pink . . dang it! I stopped in the middle of this post, ripped back that part and fixed it. I’ll have to be more careful
Six blocks done, 94 blocks to go!
I was chatting with a new knitter today and was talking about carrying yarn up the side when using two skeins/two colors. She was thinking you would have to cut the yarn at each end but I told her I’d have a picture tonight of what it looks like to carry the yarn up the side. The lighting causing it not to show up so great but hopefully you can see that it makes a nice neat edge and it’s so much easier to carry the yarn along than to cut it and have to weave in all those tails.
Also, I’m trying to weave in the ends as I go (which makes it harder when you have to rip back if the ends are woven in already!).
So far, I’m loving doing this project. It may get boring at some point but with the color changes, maybe not. It was suggested that we do 8 – 9 squares per month to get all 100 done by the deadline (December 25) and since I just got started yesterday, I’ll get at least 10 done by the end of January. We have a road trip in February and since I always taken about two dozen projects, and might work on two of them, maybe I’ll just take this and get way ahead.

Look great! I haven’t master carrying the yarn and have it look that nice. Love how yours makes such a pretty edge.

It really isn’t hard and is a lot easier with fewer, rather that more, yarns. If you’re doing something like a shawl where you don’t want the two color twist to show at the edge, you can always carry it one stitch into the project. Don’t be afraid to try it.

I think sometimes computers just have to prove that they’re really in control. Hope the picture helped.
