I always give my friend, Denise, a hard time because 9 times out of 10, when one of us finds a new knitting pattern, the other just bought it. I’m betting 85% of the knitting patterns in our libraries are the same. She still quilts and is an amazing quilter. If you don’t already follow her blog, please check it out.
She just finished a beautiful Linus. It’s a free pattern, is easy and is another beautiful “fade” or “melt” project.
She’s also working on DaPunzel Tuch, which I can’t wait to start! It looks every bit as fun as I thought it would be.
Thanks, Denise, for the inspiration!
If you’re a sock knitter, you probably have a ton of one skein sock yarn. When I first started buying yarn for socks, I had no idea that 100% wool wasn’t the best choice for hard wearing socks so I have plenty of that and probably enough that I can come up with some colors that will blend. Like Denise said, Linus is a good shape for wearing often.
DaPunzel Tuch has lots of little short rows where small amounts of leftover yarns can be used and I love that cable braid. Oh, I must knit faster!

I’d love to check out Denise’s blog, but the link doesn’t work.

Sorry. Try now. I fixed it.

Thank goodness my friend you didn’t mention that we sometimes inspire each other to buy yarn — that would be bad! 🙂

I’m always checking Denise’s blog because she is a very productive knitter. I’m not able to comment on her blog, but I copied her fan and feather shawl for a family Christmas gift. I loved her speckled Touchstone and made myself one, and then two more in Madelinetosh mixed colored yarns. Love that pattern. Exposure to new patterns is fun and educational. No socks yet but I have learned so much new in knitting. I gave 4 knitted items for Christmas and they were well received. So thank you both.

I love her projects but I’m not able to comment on her blog either.

I get a lot of my inspiration from you and I have learned so much about knitting from you. I have a confession that in my Ravelry favorites I have a tag that says JL and if you show us a project I like I favorite it and tag it JL so I can find it again. Thank you so much for your blog. I enjoy it very much.

That’s funny. I’ll think about that every time I go into my Ravelry library! Thank you.
