Chad and Nicole are home owners! They closed this morning. They are both so excited. I loved talking to them the past few days. I hear the excitement and anticipation. They’ve always rented and until this last place, they had pretty decent places but after living there almost a year, they were so ready for their own place and something that didn’t have a herd of squirrels in the attic and . . well, there were other issues.
I’ve already shown some pictures. They’re supposed to send me some pictures but these are still the realtor’s photos. I love the kitchen. Chad has checked behind the stove and there’s no gas connection but they have gas and the stove is on an outside wall and the house is on pier and beam so it will be an easy fix.
I don’t know if this is the master or if this is Addie’s room.
This is the third bedroom and it’s the smallest. Addie fell in love with it because of the color. They’ve convinced her to take the other bedroom and last I heard, the pink room is “Granny’s Room”. Nicole is going to repaint everything so I doubt my room stays pink.
They’re moving in today, and will stay at the new house tonight. I’m betting they’re going to be really, really tired tonight!
I was a little concerned with all the talk of a government shutdown. I could see something happening with their closing and it getting delayed and I had no idea if a shutdown would affect home loans but I’m thrilled they are done – closed and will be staying there tonight.
A very nice park is across the street from them. Vince used to go there and walk when we lived there. I’m not sure how cold it is there but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s not at least a brief visit to the park this evening.
I really cannot wait to go see them! I think I could have talked Vince into going this weekend except my friend, the chicken sitter, isn’t available to take care of them, and we have a long trip to make in just a couple of weeks so . . but I can’t go til probably March at the earliest. We’ll see . .

Congrats to the kids on their new home. I would wait for a bit – that way you won’t be roped into painting or any cleaning or organizing kitchen cabinets…. 😉

Oh, I could go today and they wouldn’t let me paint or organize. They’ve seen me do both! 🙂
