I do believe the budget gods are working against me. I ordered yarn. The whole truth is . . there are two boxes coming. Not much in either box. I ordered three skeins of Cascade 220 for my Hue Shift Afghan and then ESK got in more of the special colors for the yarnathon so I ordered a couple of those. Two boxes were shipped on the 10th, supposed to arrive on the 13th. Nothing. Yesterday was a holiday . . today was not a holiday. Another package that came from the Atlanta area (vitamins) was shipped on the 10th and it arrived today and it wasn’t even priority mail.
Then I ordered the little pressure cooker from Amazon. It was supposed to be delivered today by UPS. Nope. Didn’t show up either.
I think there are a whole lot of weather delays out there so I’m being patient but it is kinda funny that the things I’m ordering when I’m not supposed to be ordering just don’t seem to be making it to my house.
The problem with the ESK order is that the packages have not been scanned since they arrived in Atlanta on the 10th so I’m starting to get a little concerned about them. UPS sent a text that the pressure cooker package might be delayed because of the weather. It arrived in Dallas about 2 this morning and I think they had an awful day over there with snow and ice and accidents so I’m happy the UPS drivers were able to stay off the roads and be safe. I wouldn’t even mind that my yarn was late if it would just get scanned somewhere so I know at least someone knows where it is.
The truth is . . they’ll get here when they get here and I do hope they get here before Saturday!

I’ve had several packages that were sent by UPS recently that had an initial scan and then nothing. Then one day they were scanned in Phoenix (probably close to a week later). I think UPS is having problems with their system. What I hate is once a package is received in Phoenix so many of them are then being transferred to the US Postal system for delivery and we have terrible postal delivery where I live (it is all contract labor and not actually delivered by the postal service). This usually adds another day or two and if the package is really big and doesn’t fit into the little boxes in the community box down the street, I then have to drive 11 miles to the post office. FedEx is also doing this. I am waiting for some quilt backing that is, hopefully, scheduled to arrive on Friday. We’ll see when it gets here!

I think I’d be worried about the yarn if it was me…. When they don’t get scanned for several days, I would assume something is definitely wrong, and I think I’d be calling and asking about it. I had an order a couple of years ago that I completely forgot about it until about 3 weeks later. When I called the company to ask about it, I was told that I’d almost waited too long to report that I didn’t get it, and they might not be able to replace the order. Of course I was bit upset with them telling me that, since I had no idea how long it should have taken, and how was I supposed to know that it should have been delivered already…. I wasn’t happy with them, but they eventually did replace the complete order. Never did find out what happened to the original order.

No need to worry. It will get here or it won’t. It came from Eat, Sleep, Knit and is insured so either way, I’ll get yarn or my $$ back. With the weather issues and the holiday, I’m guessing it’s just delayed and will show up some day. If I don’t have it by some time next week, I’ll start investigating.

I do, too. I does sound suspicious!
