Pioneer Woman’s Apple Dumplings are so good and so easy to make.
It seems, after looking at the picture of the ones she made, that she rolls hers up all nice and neat and I kinda just throw mine together and slap them in the pan. They taste good and that’s what matters. Who really cares how they look . . once you put ice cream on top anyway!
Last week when I bought the bag of Granny Smith apples at Aldi, the first thing I thought about making were these apple dumplings. We had two last night and we can have two tonight or tomorrow night. The ice cream is in the freezer in the shop and I’m not sure either of us will be brave enough to walk over there in the weather that should start this evening. I guess I should go over and scoop up some ice cream and put it in a smaller container that will fit in the house freezer . . just in case one of us needs ice cream while it’s sleeting or snowing! That’s what I’ll do!

I just looked at the recipe. What’s the function of the Mountain Dew?

Love these dumplings. Haven’t found anyone that doesn’t love them yet. So easy to make.

I make this recipe frequently, and have used any kind of soda — 7 up, Mtn. Dew and any cola type too. The dark sodas just make the juices a bit darker that all.

I looked at the recipe, too. That was not something I needed to see when I’m cutting back on carbs. LOL
