We’re finally warming up in our area. I have a bad habit of talking to everything and everyone. Yesterday morning when I went to let the chickens out, I found myself saying to the icicles on the chicken coop “Goodbye! You’re leaving today! You will NOT be missed!” because it was going to warm up to around 53°.
I had to laugh when I looked at the picture because I’ve been thinking for the past few days that me, the cat, the chickens, the birds . . we’re all going to freeze to death! Then I remembered the icicles on the chicken coop in Missouri.
Then I remembered the lady who bought the purple chicken coop when we moved and I wondered if she still has chickens and how they’re likin the purple coop!
I’ll take our wimpy Texas icicles any day over the ones we produced in MO.
I’m not ready to say that I’ll be glad when winter is over because I do not like our summers but I hope we don’t have any more days as cold as it’s been here the last five or six days.

Yes, I hope tomorrow is the last of our super cold, too! I love your old purple coop! That looks like a super condo of a coop. My friend put a heater in hers this week here in Knox!

Our mountains in Colorado are supposed to get a good dosing of snow anywhere from 4-12 inches of the white stuff.

Just curious, because I have never had a chicken coop. What are the holes for in the bottom of the overhang or eave.

Ventilation.
