Let’s just skip Day 4. 🙁
Vince had a good day. Judy did not.
I have an excuse. Don’t I alwys! Amy! My friend, Amy. My ex-friend, Amy! 🙂
She wrote me about yarn that she ordered. It went downhill from there.
I knew I needed a few more skeins of Cascade 220 for my Hue Shift Afghan, which I know I’m going to type as “Hugh” Shift and half the time, the “f” accidentally gets left out. I don’t know why . . it’s not like I type that word ever!
And, I wanted yarn to make Bit of Love, which is a worsted weight version of Little Bit of Love. I spent a little over $100.
I thought being accountable on here would keep me from falling off the wagon but, apparently not.
Next .. I had a dentist appointment for near the end of February to get a cavity fixed. They called this morning and said “Can you come in today?” Yes! I love it when they have a cancellation and I get to go in early. It would have been a bit over $130 (after whatever my insurance paid) but I had a $60 credit for some reason so it was $70 but that’s in the budget already . . so that expense doesn’t count against me. The yarn does.
At lunch today Vince and I were talking and he was saying how well he’s done today . . it’s only noon, Vince! I told him “I did good up til last night” so I admitted wat I had done and . . we move forward.
I’ll do better. Much better.

YOU can do this. It just takes a bit of warming up until you realize how good success feels. And if you put the money aside, since this is a practice year, you’ll have extra money for more trips to see Addie, That should be worthwhile. Speaking from experience with chocolate here.

Yarn happens…even when you have the best of intentions. I admit I was looking through a Mary Maxim catalogue this evening, and there was a kit calling my name. For now, I set the catalogue aside. That’s just for now, though.

Sometimes it is better to get it out in the open! LOL You will make it!

Judy, Judy, Judy!!! How disappointing….LOL

I broke my habit of wanting to buy yarn just because it was so pretty. I’m not making anything but socks right now, so I don’t need any of the yarns for other projects. I just stop opening the emails that I receive. I delete the before I sneak a peak. I know my weaknesses. You realize I have not unsubscribed to any of them though.

So did you equal what Vince spent in the first few days, or is he still ahead? =) Budgets take practice. I also find that it gets easier when I say no EVERY time and don’t go back and forth. I build up resistance to spending, I guess.

Judy you may have spen $100, but since $130 was budgeted for the dentist and you only had to pay $70, then you really only spent $40 over budget for the day. You just reallocated the $60 line item for the dentist to yarn! Right!

Wait a minute. . . . have you been calculating the stuff that Vince has gone “off budget” with? Bet you it is either the same or he has gone further afield.
Just saying.
