In the quiet of the morning, while Vince and Rita were both still sleeping, and at least an hour before daylight, Sock #1 of my Rye Socks is finished.
Worsted weight socks are so warm and so quick to make. They are a bit heavier but I can still wear my tennis shoes with heavier socks. Mostly, I love these for wearing around the house. When I have to go to check on the chickens, or Cat, I can slip the outside Crocs on with these socks.
For anyone wanting to try socks, The Rye sock pattern is great. They recommend DK weight, but a worsted weight will do too. They go quickly and the pattern is very well written and has lots of diagrams and helpful hints. I think this pattern is a great for a first time sock knitter.
I’m going to try to finish the toe up socks from 2016 before starting the second Rye. I’m pretty far along . . probably a couple more inches on the leg and then the ribbing and I’ll be done. This can easily be finished today . . I think.

Where did you get the pattern? I want to order it as well. I am going to try this before you leave so I will have you and Pilar to help me with it! LOL
