As I suspected, I took a long afternoon nap. We had a late breakfast and about noon, maybe a bit before noon, I declared to Vince that I needed a nap. It was a day of college football so I think he was happy for me to stop making noise in the kitchen, stop hogging our very limited internet and let him watch the games in peace. Once he went out and was shaking the pole that the internet antenna is on . . trying to shake off any ice. Green Acres again came to mind and I had to laugh . . but not where he could see me laughing. I was tempted to go out and get a picture of him shaking that pole but figured that would be pushing my luck.
Shortly after I got in bed, I heard him leaving voice mails for our two internet guys so I felt vindicated . . the internet problems were not because I couldn’t stop reading about the 2018 Yarnathon. They did something and got it to working again but I was forbidden to use the internet til the games were over.
All that to say . . I was able to stay up a bit later tonight and get some knitting done. I sometimes wonder how other people get things done. I have no small children at home . . no children at all at home; Vince has been doing the outside chores since my knee is hurting so badly and I still rarely have time to touch my knitting til about 8 p.m. What do I do all day? Oh . . yes . . I slept three hours when I could have been knitting.
It doesn’t look like much in this photo because I was too lazy to get up and get a better picture but these are going to be very nice socks.
The worsted weight yarn goes so quickly. Only about another inch or so and I can start shaping the toe so this sock will be finished in the morning.

I love the idea of worsted socks – so much faster – but I wouldn’t have any shoes I could get my feet into with socks that thick. I would have to buy new shoes! Hey, wait a minute!

I love wearing thicker socks with slippers inside the house, or just wearing thicker socks and no slippers, then slipping on Crocs to go outside with Rita.

Here I thought you were knitting after your NY meal but instead you were sleeping! HA But you did make progress and they’re coming along nicely. I can’t imagine having to shake your internet pole to get ice off. I definitely couldn’t live ‘in the boonies’. I was VERY disappointed in the Rose Bowl outcome…sigh.
