We love eating at Fisherman’s Galley, just after you pass over the bridge into Louisiana from Texas at Toledo Bend. We stopped and got fried fish on our way in last week and always love the seafood buffet on Friday night. Last Friday was close to Christmas and we were busy so we didn’t go but we went tonight.
We were not disappointed. Fried frog legs (my favorite), fried oysters (my second favorite), fried shrimp, stuffed shrimp, fried catfish, baked fish and gumbo. There were other things – a seafood dressing, hush puppies, corn on the cob . . a couple of other things that I didn’t get.
I miss good Louisiana seafood and good Louisiana cooking but this will have to do me til we can get back next time . . which is weeks . . not months! 🙂

Those oysters look so good! Ate cajun food in Encinitas, CA at Union – yummy every time we eat there. Bought two orders of gumbo that we brought home for our Christmas dinner. Spicy but excellent once again!

Ohhhh….I am going to Middendorfs on Hwy 51 by Ruddock/Manchester to meet my brother to celebrate our respective birthdays. Best thin fried catfish in the universe!

We thought about going to Fisherman’s Galley when we were in Toledo Bend a couple years ago. I’m kind of glad we didn’t though. We didn’t realize it’s a buffet….Don can’t even tolerate the smell of seafood cooking. It sends his allergy radar out of sight. 🙁 I’m glad you were able to enjoy it though.
