Thank you all for answering my question about the Ravelry links. I was never sure if non-Ravelry members could see what I’m talking about and I kinda felt like “I have a secret but I can’t tell you because you’re not a member” and I never like that kind of stuff. Now I know y’all can see what I’m talking about . . if you want to see it. Thank you for your help!
I love pooling – when the yarn colors kinda “clump” together so instead of a good striping sequence, you get pools of color.
Can you see how there are pools of orange and pools of the dark green? I love it when that happens. I can manipulate the yarn a bit and make it happen but that isn’t always easy to do when following a pattern. The center section of this project, you can see on the narrow ends, it was striping a bit, and in the middle, there’s more pooling. It will show up better once I can spread it out, which I can’t do now because there are so many stitches on my needles. The yarn is Wollmeise and I have good luck getting it to pool. There are calculators available, or probably more like apps, to help create pooling. I haven’t tried it yet but I want to try this one.
It’s hard to believe we’ve been gone 8 days and I’ve hardly knitted any. We’ve been busy and I think I’ve slept more in the past 8 days that I have in the past 8 months! I have taken a long nap almost every day and, because it’s pitch black dark here at 5:30 p.m., we’ve been ready for bed by 7:30. Every night Vince will say “Is it 10:00 yet?” and it’s about 8:15. I should be well rested by the time we get home.
Tomorrow we have no plans except there’s a seafood buffet at the local seafood restaurant so we’ll leave here about 5 p.m. We’ll spend the morning cleaning and getting things put back like they were before we got here, then we’ll go eat dinner and spend our last night here. I don’t want to leave!! I wish we had found a house, made an offer, had it accepted and be done searching for the retirement location but . . that didn’t happen. Some day it will happen .. just not today!
Back to knitting . . I think I brought 10 projects with me. I’m going to put away Nordnordwest and go get another project to work on. It will make me feel more productive to know that I only brought 8 projects, instead of 9 projects, that didn’t get touched!

Off topic: do you have any ideas of what to add to the EZ Melter? Is there a recipe book? It seems too cheesy. Thoughts?
