My new budget is so hopelessly flawed. I think we should take the money for health care, food and eating out and put it in the “new yarn” column.
Yesterday we were driving along . . about 5.5 hours into the trip. Vince had already declared that we should have flown. Yep, straight from the Brownwood, Texas airport to the Many, Louisiana airport. Not gonna happen.
I checked the email on the phone. There was a note from Miss Babs. It said something like “The scorpio you wanted has now been dyed.” I didn’t remember wanting scorpio. I didn’t remember what color scorpio was. I didn’t remember what I wanted to make with it. But, I didn’t remember what I did that morning . . except for saying a bad word when the ice dumped in the freezer without the ice bucket in there.
But, if I wanted scorpio at some point in the past, I must still need it. I called Miss Babs. I said “I just got an email from you about a yarn I had wanted. I’m traveling and it will be this evening before I can pay for it.” Vince was saying “You aren’t supposed to be buying more yarn!” Then I had to explain that I had requested this color. It’s one skein of yarn. It’s not the first of the year yet so technically, there is no budget yet.
The Miss Babs lady told me she would go ahead and send me the invoice. We arrived at our destination, unpacked the car, I sat down to read mail and pay the Miss Babs invoice.
Well, I didn’t remember wanting Scorpio, nor do I remember why I wanted Antares, Jabbah or Sargas but aren’t they pretty? All purple. How could I say no to four skeins of purple? Of course, I didn’t mention to Vince . . oops . . there are now four skeins . . not one. Some things are just better not mentioned, right?

I LOVE purple so you’re probably OK with the purchase! LOL

Four skeins of yarn shouldn’t break the bank. I’m wondering though where Vince’s shopping habits fit into the new budget or is he excluding himself from it?

OOOOPPPS! But the colors are so vibrant! Were you going to make ‘fade’? It looks like it would make a good gradual color change type sweater or shawl. Looks like you will have fun with the yard.

I would never say “no” to purple…it’s my favorite color!

If that’s all the online shopping you did in 5.5 hours, I think Vince should be very proud! I have a 12 hour roadtrip twice this week…..

Go for it!! I’m still trying to figure out how to get a big package of fabric from the mailbox to the house without dear hubby seeing it!! It will probably be here tomorrow, and I’ve been so busy making cookies and munchies for our live nativity for church that I haven’t been out of the house! He’s been the one running up to the mailbox….I need a plan….and fast!!

I think those are “have to have” skeins of yarn because they are my favorite colors too. Whatever you make with them will be beautiful!!!! Have a wonderful Christmas and safe traveling. Hope Vince gets a good pot of coffee during the time you are away. Maybe bottled water and an inexpensive Mr. Coffee from Wal Mart would be a good Christmas present for him.

You HAD to buy the others for the sake of the Scorpio. It might have gotten lonely or afraid if it traveled to your house alone, but now you’ve saved it! 😛

Obviously you knew that Ultra Violet would be the Pantone color for 2018.
