It’s almost 60° outside, the humidity is 66%, which is rather high for this area. It’s warm and muggy feeling in the house. I just turned the a/c on for a few minutes.
Our forecast for December 31 . . High of 36 and low of 9. It will change . . I hope. I had been concerned because one night right before Christmas, the low was going to be 17°. I’m not even sure the heater in the greenhouse will keep things warm if it gets down to 9°. I don’t think we had the greenhouse the last time it got that cold here. If it would stay that low for a week or so, maybe my cherry trees would produce. Chill hours . . that’s what they need but its not what my old bones or my chickens need!
The forecast often changes as it gets closer to the date. Hopefully these temps will warm up just a bit but . . it is December and there’s not much I can do about it. 🙂

Years ago a woman in Amarillo, Texas told me to remember that weather forecasters get paid if their right or wrong. It’s was May 8th and snowing silver dollar flakes and nothing like that in the forecast.

Think we’re going to hit 77 up here and haven’t noticed any humidity but this is the weather I LOVE! Tomorrow not so much..ugh. But MAN, haven’t seen any 9 deg. forecast for up here. I’d HATE that! Been lugging firewood up by the house for safe measure.

Do you have heat lamps for your chickens? I have 1 in each coop up here in cold, snowy NH.

Right now my weather app is saying – 8F for a high on Christmas. I’m choosing to ignore what the low will be.
