This morning, the alarm went off at 5:30. I was so tempted to turn it off and sleep a little longer. I can never get to sleep before a trip and last night . . same thing, so at 5:30, I was not ready to get up. We had planned to leave the house at 7 and we were right on target to leave at 7 until . . I took the ice bucket out of the freezer to put in the cooler and the minute I did, the ice dumped . . into the bottom of that blasted pull out drawer freezer so it wouldn’t close and you cannot reach back there and get it and you can’t get a yardstick or anything back there to scrape out the ice.
I was tempted to throw it all in the trash and walk away but I called VInce back in the house, we pulled out the freezer drawer, put everything back in the freezer and were on our way . . about 7:20.

I suppose having been born, raised and spent most of my young adult life in Louisiana, that’s where I’m always going to feel at home. Crossing the bridge from Texas to Louisiana, I was so happy to see this.
I can’t imagine that there will ever be a time when I don’t get excited to see this sign.
I was saying to Rita . . This is your first time to Louisiana! She wasn’t nearly as excited as I was about being in Louisiana, but she’ll be wanting to stay here by the time we leave. 🙂
