The pattern decision has been made. There’s 875 yards and 1,500 beads.
I almost went with Alberta Shawl. The large size requires 853 yards and 738 beads so I’m good on the requirements. I love this shawl but the bigger holes kinda bother me. I think I would like it better in a heavier lace weight yarn.
Pantala, which is the pattern I was leaning towards when I first pulled out the yarn. The yarn is a perfect match. The yarn suggested in the pattern is also 875 yards/100 grams. The design uses 1,500 beads . . which means I can’t afford to drop even one bead and that’s assuming I have exactly as many beads as my package says I have. I am not counting. The problem for me is that with 1500 beads and lace yarn, I should probably use size 8.0 and I hardly have any 8.0 beads. Not buying yarn and not buying beads. I didn’t even look to see what I have in 8.0. There may be 4 different beads and chances are, there aren’t 1500 of any of them. I may check though . . just to see what I have.
In the end, I decided on Hortense Beaded Shawl. I should be able to add one extra lace section with the amount of yarn I have. The pattern has been purchased and all set up in Knit Companion. Now . . all I need is some time to get started . . my guess is . . Tuesday, the day after Christmas.

Judy I am packing for a 5 week trip to Florida. I am taking knitting…lots of knitting. Hard to know what to take but Batik by Kitman Fugero is taking top place. I have knitted it twice and given it away both times…but now I want to take something with beads..LOL
I enjoy reading about your daily life and often save your posts for my first cup of coffee in the morning…or third, as that’s what this one is.
Have a very Merry Christmas..and all the very best in the New Year!
