I love my old Kitchen Aid mixer. I think it was a Christmas gift in 1991. This is one that was made for Kitchen Aid by Hobart and it’s such a great mixer. I’m just hoping it lasts as long as I do.
I don’t use it a whole lot. I have a big Bosch mixer but for some things, the Kitchen Aid does a better job. Every time I start to use it, I say “I love this mixer!” Yesterday Vince said “How long have you had that?” and I got it the first year we were back in Louisiana and I think that was 1991. Then I start thinking about how many times that poor mixer has been moved. It is now living in it’s 12 house.
Chad swears he’s lived in 30 different houses but he has not. He lived in 16 houses before he went out on his own 7 years ago and since then, he’s lived in 5 houses and is moving again next month so all have his moves have not been because of me.
How did I get from loving my mixer to all of Chad’s moves? 🙂

I can’t even begin to list all the places my son has lived in, and all after he left home…..or the number of cars & pickups he’s had. I’ve never seen someone trade vehicles as often as he has.

I am still using my Sunbeam mixer from 1963.

I have lived in this house 34 years, moved in when my daughter was 5 days old. Told my kids I was only going to go, feet first out of here. I have too much fabric to move, so staying put.!!

Like every thing else that is old. IT is better than you get now. I belong to a yahoo group that fixes everything. You can get parts from them for stuff all the way into the 20’s. They also will tell you want and how to fix anything broken. From sewing machines to what ever you have that is broken. Geart group. And some have 30 sewing machines dating back to the 1890’s too.So keep that old mixer you’ll never be happy with a new one. Kitchen-aid isn’t making them good anymore.Let me know if you need the names of the two groups.

I’ve had my Kitchen-aid for at least 18 years. (That’s how long I’ve been in my house). I’m sure it’s a little older than that, because I had it before I moved here, but I really don’t remember when exactly I bought it. I hope mine lasts a long, long time too!

I got my Kitchen Aid mixer in 1985, a gift from my grandmother, who got it from a restaurant. She used it for quite a while before handing it over to me. I still use it for making dough, cookies and such. I once asked a repair man if I should have it overhauled, but he said until it breaks, there is nothing you need to do.

I bought my Kitchen Aid mixer in the the late 1960s. Two days ago I used it to make a big batch of cookies. It has never failed to work! How many other appliances last 50 years?
