Before my report, let me clear up some confusion . . on my own part. I only do this once a year so you can’t expect me to remember everything, right? No, I still haven’t found my cookie molds.
On the main post I did a day or so ago, it had to be done as a “page” so I could have a link to it in the menu bar. I can’t have comments on pages. So, if you don’t have a blog and you want to link up, leave a comment in this post. I’ll spell it all out as to how I think this should work and hopefully I’m right.
- Leave a comment on THIS post with your list of UFOs you would like to finish.
- I will add my link to the main post.
- Any time you need to see your list, you can click on the “2018 UFO Challenge” button in the menu bar, go down to the linky box, click on my name (JudyL), then go to the comments, find your comment and there will be your list.
If this isn’t clear, or if it’s just wrong, please let me know and I’ll keep working at it til I get it fixed.
OK . . here’s my list and I’m adding some alternates since some of mine may end up getting finished prior to the month they’re called up.
1. Sunset Highway – Done!
This should be an easy finish since most of what’s left is stockinette and no color changes. The pattern does show colorwork on the sleeves between the elbow and cuff but I don’t think I’m going to do that. I may make the ribbing on both the sleeves and body green but that all depends on how much yarn I have left.
2. Linho
This is a project I started for Joji’s Fall KAL. I made some decent progress but it’s been hibernating.
3. Blue Sand #2
Oh, my . . this is an old one. I started it in January, 2015 after I had made one for Nicole. It isn’t hard and I don’t know why I’ve left it unfinished for so long. So much is done . . but there’s still a good bit to get done.
4. MiCasa
Not very old. Started this one in early November and haven’t made much progress. One of my knitting buddies has finished one of these and I love it. Very wearable.
5. Brickless
Another fairly new project, started in October.
6. All Points South
Another one started for the Christmas Gift Along that isn’t going to be finished.
7. Nordnordwest – Ripped Out
Not much progress on this one but I should be able to get it done. I think it’s pretty easy knitting.
8. DaVinci Cowl – DONE!
Started the end of November for this year’s GAL, didn’t finish it. Ripped it out. Started it again the first part of December trying to make it shorter. Not sure if that’s going to work. May need to start over or give up on this one.
9. Stained Glass Cowl
Started in September, 2016 and was supposed to do as a KAL on the blog but I lost interest. I’m much better with stranded work now so I’m hoping it can hold my interest and I can get it finished. There’s a long way to go on this one.
10. Socks on a Plane – DONE!
These were started in March of this year and I had misplaced the project and just found them. These should be a fairly quick finish.
11. Spectra
Another project I had totally forgotten about.
12. Another Pair of Socks – Done!
Since some of my projects may end up getting finished before the month in which they’re drawn (who am I kidding?), I am adding some alternates to use in the place of any that get finished early.
I know . . I’m extremely optimistic.
Alternates:
- Rhapsody in Cables
- Stargazing MKAL Shawl
- Gardens of Giverny
- Vesper
- Black Shawl
- Bobble Cowl
- Geek Socks
Toe Up Socks (Yarn Love)Barb’s Koigu Ruffles- ADVENTurous Wrap
There are more I’m sure but I haven’t come across them yet so I’ll update this list as I find UFOs.

I already have my list on the 2018 calendar at my desk. I really must get the large rugs hooked sooner rather than later as I have two…possibly three Rug camps in 2018.

I finished #2, Frances’ throw, on Dec 26, 2017, so that one’s off my list. I’m adding working on my hexie flowers, my handstitching project. I just might get some of these things done, lol.

I am adding my list here! I posted about 18 in 2018 and will use the first 12 for this challenge as well. If I get one done before the number is pulled, I will just substitute another. I am looking forward to getting a lot done this year!
