Just so you know that I get my love for toys honestly, my dad sent me this picture yesterday of his newest hobby/toy. I think he said it’s a Model A Shay Kit Replica. I don’t know for sure though.
When he told me he bought it, I asked for a picture and that’s what I got . . “a” picture.
My dad has wanted one of these forever. He’s been looking for one and every time he would find one, it would be too far away. This one was about four hours from him and he and his grandson-in-law went and picked it up Monday. Dad is so proud of it. I’m so glad he’s gotten some thing he’s wanted for so long. He’s the best dad ever and it makes me happy to know he’s happy.

What is it? A roadster, hotrod, Model T? Can’t tell since the whole car isn’t in picture. HA

OK, so that answers that. There are cars I’d love to have except that I know there’s no way I’d get in or out of them very easy! UGH So just like shoes, I now lease my vehicles based on comfort and not looks! LOL

Like you I can’t tell what it is either. Can you please explain Judy? Sorry just can’t tell. I’m glad your dad got something he really, really wanted. There comes a time in our lives we all need one thing like that. Now what will your mom get?

From what you say I’m gathering that it isn’t a genuine old Model A but a kit car that looks like one. I’m glad he found one after wanting it for so long. What is it about men and cars? My husband has to ’55 Chevys, one two-door station wagon fully restored and a two-door sedan that could stand a little work. Took him twenty years to restore the wagon. Then they had to have their own garage built. Then there’s all the spare parts piled in the main garage…..gotta have spare parts you know! I always tell him that at least I haven’t had to have an extra building built for my quilting and genealogy stuff. 🙂

I have a vague memory of your dad and neighbor Lynn W. cutting the top off an old car. They were very cool.

I’ve heard some of those stories. There’s more than one way to get a convertible.
