That cat! She’s a funny one. On Sunday it was two weeks that I had been home. She’s just now starting to be nice to me. She’s done this every time I leave. I come back and I get completely ignored by her. One evening last week, I went outside and she was sitting on some lumber. She heard the door open, turned, saw it was me and kept her back to me. Vince walked up and I said “I believe I’m getting the cold shoulder!” He called her and she came to him! OK, Cat! I’m going to remember that.
I don’t know what he did while I was gone but she now follows him around like a little puppy. She wouldn’t have anything at all to do with him and now, she can’t get enough of Vince. She follows him to the chicken coops. She follows him when he goes out to check the trail cams. It could be because he’s feeding her twice a day and she’s turned into a rather plump kitty.
Last night, for the first time ever, I was able to walk up to her and pet her. She was sitting on my car. I walked by and she didn’t run. I reached over, held my hand in front of her for a minute and then touched her. She crouched down and wasn’t real comfortable with it but she didn’t run and she didn’t try to claw me and . . she didn’t hiss.
When I first got back from Louisiana, she would hiss at me every time I got close. Does she forget who I am or is she punishing me for leaving? Either way . . it’s kinda sad.
I’m glad to be back in her good graces . . til I leave again. I hate to be the one to tell her but the next time I leave, Vince is going with me and we’re going to be gone for over a week. I wonder what she’ll do then!
It’s so hard to get a good picture of her because she’s never still but she is so pretty and has gotten such a full, shiny coat. I really do like her and wish I could love on her a bit but the best I can do is sit very, very still and rub her a few times.
She’s been around for over two years now . . probably getting close to three years. I guess her grumpiness is what’s helped keep her alive this long.

Oh, she is looking well-cared for!
I was just looking at the last pictures of my old cat, and noticed she got rather scruffy as she aged. Still, she did get cuddly.
Is that a little house I see? Does she actually sleep there?

It is so funny to read your post about cats. I remember when I first read your blog you didn’t like cats of one bit and now you have two. They grow on you. My hubby said now more after our last one died 12 years or so ago. Well one came up here at New house and guess what and where he stays now? Up in hubbies lap all of time of in the house. His name is George and he won’t go to bathroom in house of litter pan.He goes to door and ask to go out with a very loud screem. He has been in house for 12 hours and never an accident. So enjoy cat and Boots both.
