It always seems funny that I never know what I need until someone else solves my problems. Yes, my problems are very minor compared to what many face but I was frustrated with my iPad situation. I love my iPad mini for using Knit Companion. I’m not even sure I would keep knitting without Knit Companion. It makes it so much easier! I love how I just tap it and it counts my rows. I love how all my patterns that I’m currently working on or plan to work on in the near future are right there, stored . . I can use them even when the internet is on the blink. I love that I can make notes, kinda like sticking a sticky note on a paper pattern. What I love most is that KC will count my stitches for me and I can color all the knit stitches one color and all the purl stitches another color and all the yarn overs another color, etc.
My problem has been the iPad. I’ve used my mini iPad for several years but the battery is not holding a charge but for a couple of hours. It’s rare that I’m not near an electric plug or, I can charge it in my car, but it’s aggravating. I moaned and groaned about it and Vince said “Just get a new one!” I do not like change and I resisted but finally I agreed and he began shopping. He was able to get a “bargain” on a full size iPad, even though I kept saying . . NO! I want a mini.
I’m thankful that he found it and ordered it but I still prefer the mini. The full size one does not sit on the arm of my chair like the mini does so I have to keep it in my lap and since it’s bigger, it doesn’t stand up as well. With it being in my lap, that’ means the knitting is between my eyes and my iPad so I can’t knit while looking at the chart and on some of the more intricate charts, it really slows me down to have to put the knitting aside a bit, look at the chart, and go back to knitting.
I know . . it all sounds so petty but it was a problem and I just wanted a mini iPad.
While at knitting yesterday, my friend, Bethany, was telling me about some kind of stand she uses for her iPad and then she sent me a link.
I was able to find it on Amazon and it’s Prime so I saved on shipping. For about $35, this may be the best thing ever. It’s probably going to be even better than having the mini iPad. The larger one obviously is bigger and I can see it better. I can watch it at eye level, touch it to make changes and I think I’m going to love it.
Last night I was thinking about it and it made me giggle. I’ll probably get used to using it and then I’ll want to carry my stand with me everywhere I go. I can already see me having to take this with me when I go back to Louisiana for a week or so after the first of the year.
I’m glad I was griping about my iPad situation at knitting yesterday. I would never have known about this cool tool otherwise.
Thank you, Bethany!

I got one similar to this except it bolts to your chair or table. I had neck surgery and could not look down for several weeks. Saved the day.
