I’m kinda feeling like everyone is shopping but me but that doesn’t bother me.
If you’re shopping, what are you buying? How are the crowds? Are you getting everything on your list? Finding much that’s already all sold out? Don’t you love it . . I’m not about to go out on Black Friday but I’m wondering what’s happening out there! 🙂
Eat, Sleep, Knit has their big Black Friday sale today. Several years ago, we crashed their website and Vince was on one computer trying to get their site to come up, I was on another. I think he looks forward to the ESK shopping extravaganza. This morning, he said “What time does the yarn sale start?” I told him I could start shopping at 8. A couple of hours later, he asked “When do we get to start shopping?” I told him I had already done what I had to do. Apparently he’s really been shopping because he said “You can buy more!” Hmmm . . where’s Vince? Who is this man that looks like Vince but can’t possibly be my husband? 🙂
I had been wanting to make this Sweatshirt sweater so I ordered Spud & Chloe Sweater yarn to make that. I had been wanting to make Avix so I ordered some Blue Sky Woolstok to make that. I ordered a few skeins of striped sock yarn for a couple of projects. Then I went back and ordered Cascade 220 in Charcoal Gray to make Nor’easter and Cascade 220 in Irelande to make Reverb. I’m kinda making a half promise to myself that I’ll get these four sweaters done by the end of 2018. I think we’ll all be surprised if that happens.
The Loopy Ewe had a few brands marked down so I ordered 3 skeins of Blue Moon Silk Lace and one skein of Crackpaca that I’ve been wanting to try. I’ll probably wish I had ordered more of both of those but I have more yarn than I’ll ever use so I’m happy with my limited orders.
Lodge (cast iron) had a few things on sale. Most of their stuff I can get for way less at Amazon but Amazon didn’t have the loaf pan except for a higher price than Lodge so I ordered that and a couple of other things from Lodge. I have one loaf pan and really like it. So often I’m baking two loaves at a time and wanted a second loaf pan.
It looks like my husband is shopping til he drops or until the credit card says “NO MORE” but that’s ok. All of his purchases should be on the same bill that has my Louisiana/Missouri expenditures so he shouldn’t say much about the few things I purchased while I was gone.
I had planned to sit and knit all day. Here it is after lunch and I haven’t touched the knitting yet. I will spend the afternoon knitting!

UGH! I hate shopping on a normal day! I went shopping on black Friday one time and that was enough for me. Hated every minute of it and wouldn’t say I got any fantastic deals. Would definitely rather sit at home and shop on the computer. Just wish I knew how V finds such great deals.

Went out to breakfast with a friend – we picked a restaurant farthest away from the malls, Target, etc. and it was pretty empty – everyone was busy shopping. We stopped at the grocery store – it was pretty empty to so I managed to avoid all the craziness (and did my ESK and TLE shopping at home.)

You couldn’t pay me to go anywhere near a mall or shopping area on Black Friday. My daughters go and generally have a great time with their daughters and get some good deals. It’s just not for me. I’d probably get frustrated just trying to find a place to park. So far I’ve been able to avoid the ESK sale – tempting, but I’m trying to behave. Today I’m starting to decorate for Christmas and listening to Christmas music on Pandora. Christmas is most definitely my favorite time of the year. Monday we leave for Florida for a couple of weeks so I’d like to have everything done before we leave.

My tradition is to NEVER go Black Friday shopping. I did it ONCE and the item I really wanted was already gone. I’d bet anything that the store only had one to start with if it had any of that particular item. I don’t like shopping at the best of times and the closest place with a good variety of stores is 60 mi. away. I try to have the biggest majority of my Christmas shopping done by Thanksgiving day….and a good part of that is done online any more. As my two youngest grandchildren say….order it and THE GUY will bring it (UPS). The three older grandchildren & the oldest’s boyfriend planned to be at the stores before 6am….hope they had fun.

the only after Thanksgiving shopping that I do is on line – I can’t stand the crowds and really some of the on line sales aren’t that much of a sale – I checked some prices a couple days ago and wrote things down and then went back to check today and they weren’t that different on the quilting sites I had went to – I ended up saying forget it – I wasn’t going to save enough to make it worthwhile – I’ll check again in a week or so and see if prices are marked down more – I don’t need anything anyhow

I spent 5 1/2 hours in my studio doing a quilting marathon. The first clue to a mystery quilt I love doing came out today. First clue is DONE!!!!! Now heading for a glass of wine! Cooking our thanksgiving dinner today as we went to friends yesterday. It’s a Capon, good size for the 2 of us.

I went Black Friday shopping ONCE and that was it . I decided my oldest daughter and I would go .. so we left husbands and kids at home. When we got there it was a total rat race. When the fight broke out over a toy- we both looked at each other and headed to another store. The lines were long and people were not friendly at all.. So we went home with half the items we wanted on our list and said never again. She does take the granddaughters on Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping; but I have no patience for people on those days when their normal senses are ummm out of alignment.
