The nice thing about my recent travels is that I’ve had a couple of breakfasts not cooked by me! Roger fixed sweet potato pancakes when I stayed with them. Chad fixed breakfast this morning.
Grits, eggs, bacon and toast from homemade bread. The only bad thing about Chad’s breakfast is that he made a mess as big as the mess his mother makes and then he rushed off to work and I was left to clean the kitchen. I suppose cleaning the kitchen after someone else cooked is still better than having to cook and clean the kitchen.

I like that idea of someone to clean up after I finish cooking a meal. I’m not a big breakfast person, but that looks delicious.

Yep! I didn’t cook very often but when I did, DH always cleaned up after me. Made it a little better that I didn’t have to clean the mess I made and he always did it without being asked. Guess he was glad that he didn’t have to go out again.

Do you have a recipe for the sweet potato pancakes? I have been looking for a good one for a while!

I don’t like the cleanup part either. I tend to just let it sit…unfortunately the elves don’t come and take care of it for me…

When the kids were still home and in their teens and I was still working full time I got tired (fed-up) with cooking AND cleaning the kitchen after supper. So, I announced that from now on whoever cooks does not clean. The first night, after dinner I got up and walked into the living room with a glass of wine. The family followed. After about 10 minutes I looked at them and said ‘I wasn’t kidding’. They looked at me like I was nuts but they got up – Bob included – and cleaned the kitchen. So nice…..
