This morning I had to be at the dentist at 9:30.
You may remember that our next closest neighbor, and friends, had a house fire going on two years ago and their new house is being built. They’ve lived several places but not too long ago, they rented a house in town. She told me the street it’s on. I pass down that road almost every time I go to town. I told her one day . . I know where you live!I had seen their cars outside.
Yesterday I was talking to my friend and I told her I had to go to the dentist and I would pass by her house a little after 9 and could drop off some eggs. Yes! She would be up. This morning I drove up, went to the front door, rang the doorbell. No one came to the door. The doorbell looked like maybe it didn’t work. I opened the storm door to knock on the door and the wooden door was open just a little. I wondered why Ann’s dogs weren’t barking but I kinda stuck my head in and yelled ANN?? A woman came around the corner in her bath robe. She wasn’t Ann! I said “Oh, sorry! I think I have the wrong house!” She agreed! She told me that my friend’s lived a couple of blocks . . that way. I went back to the car, called and they told me exactly which house they were living in.
Eggs delivered . . to the right house.
Either I don’t know what cars my friends drive these days, or those people in the wrong house have pretty darned close to the same cars but next time, I’ll be sure I know where I’m going . . maybe. I have a tendency to stay lost.

Maybe the woman in the wrong house initially thought you were an early trick-or-treater. 🙂 I’m assuming that no ghosts or goblins knock on your door on Halloween night because you live in the country.
