I know I say this every time but I love this shawl so much. There are shawls that are heavier and warmer and more snuggly but this one is just beautiful!
This morning just as it was getting daylight, I was able to get some good pictures with the beads. For this shawl, I wanted the beads to not stand out a whole lot . . just be sparkly, and that’s what they are.
The yarn is Miss Babs’ Yarning which is considered heavy lace weight and the shawl, even with all the beads, is so very light.
No doubt I would change my mind after a while but right now, I’m thinking I could make a dozen shawls by this pattern and never get tired of knitting it.
Even if you’re a confident beginner, I urge you to try this pattern if you like the way it looks. Anna’s patterns are so easy to follow. She has a page that tells you how many stitches you should have after each right side row. I put stitch markers in after every repeat so if there are 12 repeats of 20 stitches, I can count 1 – 20, then 1 – 20 as long as it takes and not have to be counting up to 400 or 500. Then, If I count 19 in one repeat, it’s easy to isolate where the mistake is. The mistakes I made several times was to forget a yarn over and, since I’m a loose knitter, it’s easy to “insert” a yarn over when I’m purling back across the wrong side.
I can’t say enough about this pattern.

OMGosh! That’s is so dainty and lovely! Oh, I would love to learn to knit so beautifully! My dear MIL is an accomplished knitter, she’s a picker not a thrower, but she says she doesn’t have the patience to teach anyone. I’ve seen her knit a lacy baby afgan, read a novel and watch tv all at the same time. I think she invented multi-tasking! ?

Striking! It is marvelous. Just think of it is a variety of colors…a blue one, a green one, a red one, cream one, etc. That would give you an excuse to make several more.
