Patterns Added:
There were a few patterns added but at least they weren’t all lacy shawls.
- Crystalline Lace Shawl
- Double Down Beanie
- Grape Soda
- Pantala
- New England Woods Hat
- Irma Hat
- Northern Lights
- Collinwood Collection
Yarn Added:
Not a lot of yarn added but a few skeins.
This is the first skein that was dyed by Wendy’s Wonders in my purple and gold colorway. It’s 100% superwash merino, fingering weight, 490 yards. She dyed that one as a test before dying the silk skein.
This one is lace weight and it’s superwash merino/silk, 875 yards.
I want to make a big lacy shawl for me and I want it to be something I can wear to dinners, to funerals, to church . . anywhere I need “the little black shawl. The yarn is Miss Babs’ Yearning, which is 65% merino/35% Tussah Silk and it’s 1,200 yards. The color is Ebony This is the same yarn I’m using except it’s light blue) for Shieldmaiden that I’ve been working on.
I’m stumped on the bead color. I don’t want the beads to disappear in the black. I have some chalky looking white beads, some shiny white beads with gold inside, various crystal-ish beads and something similar to mother of pearl. I’m going to swatch using all the beads and see what I think. Of course, I’ll ask for opinions.
This is 100% cultivated silk and it’s 1,250 yards. The color is Pewter. I’ve not used Miss Babs’ 100% silk yarn yet so I wanted to try it and I wasn’t sure if I wanted a pretty gray shawl or a black shawl. Still not sure . . maybe I’ll make both! 🙂
Projects I Worked On:
It’s hard to believe I’ve been totally monogamous this week but mostly I worked on Shieldmaiden. I don’t mean to gloat or toot my own horn, but this thing is going to be so gorgeous. I had planned to send it to a friend. I may or may not. I just love it. I can’t show a very good photo now because I’m at that point where I have about 450 stitches on the needles and the stitches are pretty scrunched up. I have about 10 rows to go. I thought I would finish it Wednesday. I thought I would finish it Thursday. I’m not very optimistic that I will finish it today but I will finish it by Saturday.
I can’t wait to get it blocked and then get a good picture for you.
Other projects . . I finished the second test knit. At our knitting group this week, I sat for three hours and did nothing but weave in tails. I had a million on Addie’s neon striped sweater and quite a few on the last test knit but they’re all done now.
Knitting Plans for this Week:
Right now, all I can think of is finish Shieldmaiden! I’m thinking I might knit a small shawl using the purple and gold wool before starting the silk skein. I’d like to decide on beads for the black shawl, choose a pattern and get started on that. I’d also like to get a couple of hats made for winter so . . who knows what I’ll have for next week’s report.
If you have a knitting report to share, we’d all love to read it and see what you’re working on.

Judy, both of your purple and gold yarns are absolutely gorgeous. Your Sheildmaiden is stunning. I want to be you when I grow up! Oh, I forgot, I’m older than you are!!!!! However, I am working on another pair of socks (my 4th pair ever). It has been sometime since I last knitted a pair of socks (last December of January) and I got to just past the heel and really had a hard time remembering how to pick you the stitches to continue – I found my directions rather sketchy and confusing. After much playing around, I finally figured out what I needed to do and now I’m on my way to getting this 1st sock finished. No picture yet.

I love that pattern, I am a beginner knitter and I am trying to use the yarn I have & lots of yarn has been donated to our church. We are making prayer shawls & I had to mail 2 out this week & our stock is limited. I love knitting & watching Netflix which is good & bad.

Her patterns (Anna Victoria) are so easy to read. I think even a beginner would not have problems with her patterns. That’s so nice of you to be working on prayer shawls and donation yarn from your stash!
