My car is back! Everything should be right in Cat’s world.
I’m anxious to see where she sleeps this winter. During the summer, she stays up on the top but in the winter, when the metal is cold, she sleeps on that little spoiler. It’s plastic and it must stay warmer. You can see the bottle of Tide and a gallon jug of water on top. I have a rug up there and those things keep the rug from blowing off. The rug protects the gasket around the sun roof that Cat had been using for a scratching post. I’m thinking she’ll sleep on that rug this winter.
For now, she’s sitting under the old grill that’s waiting to be taken to the dump. She’s ready for us to do what we have to do and go inside and leave her alone! I can’t get over how much she wants attention in the mornings and how much she wants to be left alone in the afternoons.
Friday night is going to be cold. Cat has a heated cat house but she doesn’t like going in there. I think she’s lived in the open for so long that she doesn’t like feeling confined. Chad and Nicole got one for their cat and she loves it. Ours is here. We plug it in and Cat can go in it if she wants or . . she can sit on top of my car and be cold. Her choice.

Wow, cat is beautiful! She really has thrived under your care. She looks like she’s filled out and her fur looks velvety–not sure if that’s just the camera playing a trick, but what a pretty soft-looking cat! Happy girl.

If the cat house is too enclosed for Cat, perhaps a box with just 3 sides and the bottom with some bedding material inside would be more to her liking.

When I was in high school, my outdoor cat and the neighbor’s outdoor cat pretty much hated each other and fought frequently…except when it was cold. Then they cuddled up together to stay warm at night. You could always tell when they had been fighting though–there would be tufts of white fur everywhere. (The neighbor’s cat was a long-haired white cat and lost a lot of fur when they fought. Mine was a short-hair grey and white cat.)
