I’ve almost written this story several times so . . maybe I did . . if you’ve already read all this . . please chalk it up to my old age! 🙂
It’s actually all finished now but it’s blocking so I used the older photo.
The yarn is Madelinetosh DK Twist and I’ve had it for a while. Heck, I started the sweater in spring of 2016. Thank goodness I made it a size 6 so it will fit this winter. That’s probably the problem — I didn’t HAVE to get it done right away so I took way too long.
When I’m knitting anything, I put all the yarn with the project and keep it in a knitting bag. I still needed to add the front bands but the last time we went to Abilene, I grabbed the sweater to take to try to find buttons. I didn’t find buttons but when I got home, I didn’t put the sweater back int he back and now, it was away from the yarn I needed to finish it and . . you can guess the test of the story. When I got ready to add the front bands, I searched and searched and could not find the black yarn. I looked through the most recent tubs of yarn I had packed. I looked in every bag and tub I could find. Didn’t find it. I checked with Madelinetosh to see if the yarn was still available. No. I had decided that since I still had the colored yarns, I would just make one side of the button band pink and one side green, use black buttons and be done! I talked to Nicole about it and she said Addie would love it no matter what I did. It wasn’t 10 minutes after I hung up from talking to Nicole that I got out a sweater project of my own . . one I had also taken to Abilene, and the black yarn was in that bag.
I remembered then that I brought my sweater to work on, Addie’s sweater to look for buttons, and put the black yarn in that bag so I could keep it with the sweater but . . I took the sweater in at JoAnn’s by itself and it never got put back in the bag where it was supposed to be.
Thank goodness I didn’t go ahead and make those colored button bands. This sweater will fit Addie this winter and probably not next winter so the pressure was on to get it finished. It’s finished and I’ll either send it or go deliver it in person soon . . it all depends on when I get my car out of the shop and if I’m confident that it’s fixed.

So glad you were able to find the yarn and have it finished. Hoping the car is ready for you to take a road trip REAL soon!
