Remember the zucchini on the back porch that sprouted?
I stuck the whole thing in a pot and it looks like lots of seeds have sprouted. I think today or tomorrow I’m going to try to separate some of them into multiple pots. I need to get lettuce seeds started in the greenhouse and probably a few tomato and cucumber seeds so we can enjoy fresh salads through the winter.
This tree is growing from a seed I planted and I have no idea what it is. I thought it was a lychee but looking at pictures of lychee trees, I don’t think that’s what it is.
There’s no telling what it is. Judging from the yellowish leaves, I’d say it isn’t very happy right now but it’s something I stuck in a tiny pot and haven’t paid much attention to. I’ll transfer it to a larger pot, give it a bit of fertilize and probably some acid since our water is so alkaline, most plants don’t do well without some kind of an acidifier . . and see what happens. Maybe with a little TLC, this little tree will grow and eventually, I’ll figure out what it is. Any ideas?
Throwing away any kind of seed for me is like throwing away fabric scraps. I was never a scrappy quilter but I had bags of scraps and every now and then, someone would come along who wanted scraps and I was happy to unload.

Could be a black locust tree. They have pretty flowers and produce lots of seeds.
