Everyone knows I am NOT a shopper. But, I am a crafter and Hobby Lobby is the best! Every time we go to Abilene, I asked to run by Hobby Lobby. It’s kinda on the other side of town from where we usually go and Vince will usually say “If we have time .. ” I think he knows that by the time we go by T. J. Maxx, Academy, Sam’s Club, Lowe’s and whatever other place he wants to go, I’ll be begging to go home and I’ll lose my desire to go to Hobby Lobby. Most of the time, he’s right. The last time we were there, which was probably late June or early July, we did go to Hobby Lobby. They had all their pretty paper 40% off. I got about four tablets/packs for me and the same four for Nicole. The pretty paper is great for the Cricut. Every time we leave the store, I say “I wish we had a Hobby Lobby!” They have great sales. They have lots of inexpensive decorative items. They have yarn and knitting supplies. They have fabric and buttons. They have lots of little trinkets I can get to send Addie. Vince likes their drawing/art supplies.
When my friend and I were driving back from our retreat a few weeks ago, we were talking about how much we miss having a Hobby Lobby close. Sometimes you just need a little packet of clasps or, knitting needle tip protectors, or a pretty candle . . something that Hobby Lobby always has!
Yesterday afternoon, I was just wasting time on FB and saw that one of our local radio stations had this posted . . which I shared.
I immediately called Vince and by the time I got back to Facebook, it was all over the news. The City of Early, the City of Brownwood, all the local radio stations . . confirming that we’ll be getting a Hobby Lobby hopefully in June.
It’s moving into the location where Penney’s was. I’ll trade Penney’s for Hobby Lobby any day but I suppose having both would have been nice too.
The local radio guy I like said this morning that a lady had called in and said “You know how excited men were when Harbor Freight opened? This is payback time!”
So true. I’m so happy that we have Harbor Freight and will soon have Hobby Lobby. That means two less stops we have to make when we’re in Abilene and anything I need from Hobby Lobby, I can run down there and get it and not have to wait months for my next trip to a bigger town.

I’m with you..I LOVE Hobby Lobby (but sometimes I ask myself how many more dust catchers I need regardless of how cute they are!). LOL

I like Hobby Lobby fabrics too. So excited for you. With the wedding planning I’ve been working on, I now refer to Hobby Lobby as my salary sucking store! LOL!!! It’s the most affordable place to shop though!

I’m jealous. I’ve head great things about Hobby Lobby but I’ve never been in one before. We have Craft Warehouse but it’s in town so I don’t go too often. But when I do…..I have so much fun! I happy for you. 🙂

We have one here in Rapid City, SD and they don’t have one in Minneapolis, so my cousins will stock up when they come to visit.

I know how you feel. We are finally have one in Hopkinsville, KY. It opened this month. Yeah! My daughter says you should always make sure to go on line for a coupon if you don’t have their paper. It’s worth it.
Carol says
Better than tracking down a paper coupon, get the Hobby Lobby app for your phone and the coupon is always with you as well as the weekly ad.

How exciting! I love to browse in there, every season of the year. It’s just fun to look. Last time I was in there, they had just set up all the nutcrackers. I usually miss most of them because I’m in later in the year more, but this year, there they were, looking so great! Well, Aldi and Hobby Lobby, who needs Penney’s? LOL My Aldi and Hobby Lobby are on the same 4-corners shopping area, and about .5 miles from each other, along with a lot of other fun things like Ross, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Target and Kroger. I don’t need to go to the big shopping centers very often, and I’m happy about that … even though they aren’t more than 7-8 miles from me. I’m SO happy it’s coming pretty soon!

Yay!!! so happy for you. I have to go about 35 miles to the nearest Hobby Lobby!
