Credit and Hackers

A blogging friend, Janna, is someone I trust completely and she has done an excellent post about the security breach at Equifax and freezing your credit. You can read the post here.

According to the Equifax “check to see if you were affected” info, both of our information was included in the breach.Everyone has to make their own decision but at our point in life, I can’t think of a reason why we’ll need credit. We’ve just changed all our insurance (home, cars and umbrella) and they didn’t check our credit. If/when we need credit, we’ll just unfreeze (or should I say “thaw”) our credit for whatever agency the company uses. I think after the recent breach, businesses are going to get more used to people having to unfreeze/thaw credit before getting it checked.

We feel a whole lot more comfortable with the credit frozen.

Please do your own research and make the right choice for you based on all the information you can gather. It’s ridiculous the amount of people out there trying to mess us all up.
