Vince spent a lot of years in Georgia and his favorite breakfast is country ham, grits, biscuits and scrambled eggs. That’s probably one of my least favorite breakfasts . . except for the biscuits. I don’t really like scrambled eggs or country ham. I don’t mind grits. So when I really want to be a good wife, we have country ham, grits, biscuits and scrambled eggs for breakfast. He’s been off for four days, has worked his butt off for three days . . except for Saturday when he watched football all day and yesterday when he insisted we go to town . . twice. OK . . he cut lots of weeds and cut the grass but he goes back to work tomorrow so we had his favorite breakfast today.
That’s actually my plate. He got more eggs. I only like the yolks. He puts cheese in his grits. I put butter on mine.
He puts sorghum on his biscuits. I put Steen’s cane syrup on mine. Georgia boy and Louisiana girl! He only wants salt and pepper on his eggs. I want cajun seasonings . . Slap Ya Mama, of course.
We have our differences, we have our similarities. We work hard to make it work . . even when serving breakfast! 🙂

I could go for Vince’s breakfast….minus the grits and with honey on the biscuits. I agree with salt and pepper on the eggs, with maybe some sauteed red bell pepper & onion added. My sad breakfast today was peanut butter on a slice of toast. At least the bread was homemade!

I agree about your tweak on Vince’s breakfast. My breakfast was granola cereal with blueberries and almond milk.

I could eat Vince’s breakfast in a heartbeat. I do like butter and a bit of sugar on my grits and I can eat eggs almost anyway but raw! I had steel cut oats (hockey puck style from the freezer) the way you taught me to plan ahead, but I put lots of goodies in them – cinnamon, chia seeds, flax seeds, raisins or craisins, sliced almonds and brown sugar, with a piece of cinnamon swirl bread. After seeing your pictures and missing dinner tonight, I’m getting hungry and it’s almost 11 pm.
