Choosing colors for What the Fade?! is kicking my rear end. Part of me says . . give up! But I really want to do this. You’re probably tired of seeing my yarn possibilities but I’m going to show them one more time.
This is what I thought I would use in the beginning.
Once I wound these yarns, I realized some of the colors were blending, specifically the second and third from the right.
I began digging for other yarns and found these that I thought would work.
These would have been great for a normal, basic, no frills fade type project. But . . not so much for this project. This project has brioche and as soon as I began seeing other people’s progress, I knew some of my colors were going to fade too much. That’s weird, huh? We want them to fade but yet we don’t want them ALL to fade. If I’m going to go to the trouble of doing brioche, I want to make sure it shows.
Back to the drawing board . . rather, stash diving.
All the yarns except the one on the right are Madelinetosh Twist Light. I have two different purples arriving Tuesday in Twist Light and hopefully one of those will work. If not, I will go ahead and use that Lorna’s Laces purple.
This is it . . like it or not . . I’m fixing to cast on and learn to do brioche!

I like your last choice!

I found it so interesting that I loved the first choice and it didn’t pan out with the cakes. I would have thought those two browns were totally different! I can see why this required redoing. Your final choice looks good, though.

I like the first one too but show us new colors when they arrive might change mind.of course I don’t know how fading and what it looks like so can decide for sure.

I bought the brioche book and decided I’d have to do something else. I have two great “fades” in two entirely different colors that I’ll use to make two something else. No Brioche for me. You’re a brave and courageous woman Judy!

your last selection is wonderful; like it much better than the first one.

Oh I like all of them and they would be great for a couple of crochet projects I plan to work on after getting a couple of other items done. Nice choice for sure

I would just do a small swatch with each color and that would tell you how they look knitted up before I put alll that time into brioche knitting.
