Late last night (or it was late when I saw it), Eat, Sleep, Knit announced a Flash Knit Along (FKAL) using the Candy Dots pattern. Such a happy pattern! How nice would it be to have this cowl to war on a cold, gray day? Oh . . wait . . no cold, gray days here but you never know where I could find myself and experience a cold, gray day.
Of course, I quickly ordered yarn but then I started thinking .. the FKAL runs from 8/28 til 9/3. With good weather conditions, an order shipped on Saturday is going to get here on Wednesday, which will be the 30th. Who knows what this week’s weather may do to yarn trying to make it’s way from GA to TX. Assuming it arrives on Wednesday afternoon, there’s probably no way I could knit that cowl in 4-1/2 days. So . . that prompted me to go stashdiving. After digging and tumbling and making a huge mess, I came up with a few options but nothing was thrilling me.
Then, my good buddy, Denise, sent me a link to a new pattern, Plaid is the New Fad. Oh, I love that and, it’s on sale through Sunday so if you’re interested, grab it while it’s half price.
Back to more stashdiving. Or, should I call it making a mess and wasting time?
Then, I came to my senses and remembered that I am doing the What the Fade? KAL starting Thursday, and Joji’s KAL starts Friday and I have half a dozen of her things I want to knit.

After winding the yarns, I think #4 and #5 are too close in color. They don’t look nearly so close in the photo below (they’re the bottom and next to bottom in the photo below).

Back to a little more stash diving to see what I can come up with to replace one of those colors. I’ll be ready by Friday . . that’s how I spent most of my day and didn’t really accomplish a single thing!

I had delusions of That Dot Cowl FKAL for a while last night too. Quickly ordered yarn for background color. Then This morning I realized my Electric Peeps mini skein sets would be perfect so wouldn’t have had to order yarn. Then this afternoon I started figuring out just how many hours I’d have to knit after work and even with a three day weekend decided I didn’t want the cowl that bad right now after all. I’ll just relaxingly knit on other projects instead and enjoy my long weekend. Whew! Finally once I came to my senses ahead of time. LOL.

Judy, it looks like you’ve got two very different possibilities on your yarn color groupings for the cowl.
with yarns 1-3 I would go forward with the blues for #’s 4-6.
and with current yarns 4-6, I would go toward Fall colors in orange/peach for yarns 1-3.
Whatever you choose, it will be beautiful!
