When I have these weekly reports to do, I know I say it every week, but Friday to Friday passes so quickly. I want time to slow down. I have too many patterns to knit! 🙂
Patterns I Added:
- Sporadic Stripes (free) – Very basic – I may dig out all my sock yarn leftovers and do some kind of fade. The pattern calls for sport weight yarn but fingering weight would work fine .. maybe just a few more stitches.
- Super Slouch (free) – Looks like a quick hat using aran weight yarn. Would be good to make quick, warm hats for the homeless. Winter is coming!
- Ninni (free)- The back of this cardi is so pretty! I think it would be fun to knit.
- Jih – So many of Isabell Kraemer’s patterns look the same and I end up looking at her patterns and then saying “I have three of her patterns that look almost just like that” but I have been going back to Jih for a few months. It’s knit with two strands of lace weight yarn held doubled. Someone in one of the Ravelry groups knit it and she loves it. She said the weight is airy enough that she won’t smother but it’s another layer for good warmth. So . . I had to get it (and order yarn).
- Puntilla – Another Joji pattern and I have the yarn to make it so I didn’t hesitate to get this one when I saw it. It looks like a very good, very wearable sweater.
- Litrikur – Certainly I don’t NEED another shawl or scarf but this one looks so fun and I think I can dig up stash yarn that will work for this one.
Yarn Ordered:
- Juniper Moon Findley – 3 skeins of Snowy Skies and 4 skeins of Periwinkle. I’ll have plenty extra to make a hat and maybe mitts too. I love Findley!
- The Loopy Ewe added some yarn to their marked down section so I ordered 4 skeins of sock yarn that was on sale and 1 skein that wasn’t on sale.
Yarn That Arrived:
Madelinetosh Vintage in Cosmic Wonder Dust. This is what I was going to use to make my sheep cardi but now I’m having second thoughts. Maybe I want something more solid. I’m not going to knit it right away so I don’t have to make that decision today.
Projects I Worked On:
Kid Ewe Knot – I got this one to where all I have left is stockinette so I’m saving it to finish at the retreat next month. It’s not loaded up in the “retreat knitting” bag and I won’t mess with it again til I get to my retreat.
Veronika – 1/2 done with this!
Finished Projects:
Nothing finished. That’s never good. I should work on finishing a pair of socks so I at least have something to show that’s finished. That will be my new goal . . always have something finished to show.
Knitting Plans for this Week:
- Finish Veronika.
- Start Sunset Highway.
- Andrea Mowry’s “What the Fade” starts 8/31 so I hope to start that and keep up.
Please share your knitting report with us!

Sunset highway looks interesting with the flecked yarns. I didn’t finish anything this week either. I’m still working on my Rune shawl, I added an extra stripe of color, so I could use up most of my yarn. But as you probably know, the bigger the shawl, the more stitches get added. I takes me about 10 minutes to do a row of garter stitch on it now, and I have about 20 more rows to go. I’m hoping to finish by the release of the next pattern. I bought four skeins of yarn to make a pandalicious hat this week.

I just download Ninni. I agree the back is really cool! And of course, I don’t have enough sweater patterns. Snort. (I have 3 sweaters I’m itching to start and another 10 or so in my queue…and we won’t talk about what I marked as favorites. Plus 3 sweaters on my needles right now.)
