One thing I never realized about chickens was how much they dig. Actually, they start scratching, looking for bugs and they just keep digging and digging . .
They’re about to dig under the fence and then they’ll be loose in the yard and then they’ll end up on the porch and then I’ll have chicken poop on the porch so I went and got a bucket of gravel fro the gravel pile and filled the hole. They don’t like digging in gravel so once I put gravel down, they’ll find another spot to look for bugs.
Speaking of chickens, we currently have 40 chickens. This is how many eggs I got yesterday.
Yes . . two eggs! Ridiculous. They don’t lay as much when it’s so hot and there are a couple of them molting. But . . Fall is coming and they’ll get fired up again and it won’t be long til I’m begging friends to take eggs.
