We should get a few pomegranates from our trees this year. Growing anything fascinates me but the pomegranates are specially fun to watch grow. I didn’t grow up eating them and they’ll never be the first fruit I reach for in the fruit bowl but I’m learning to like them.
A couple of trees may be a little confused. I’m not sure they should be blooming in the middle of August but . . they can do their thing. Last week this tree had 7 blooms on it and now there are only 2, thanks to the grasshoppers. Isn’t it funny that the blooms look like little mini pomegranates?
We’re still getting figs and jujubes but the rest of the fruit trees are done for this year.

My husband’s grandparents’ house has a large pomegranate bush at their house not far from you. No one has lived there in years, but last time I was there in the fall I picked some. They are an unusual looking fruit for sure and I like to have a few around mostly for decorating in the fall.

So nice of you to post a photo of a pomegranate growing on a tree/bush. I have never seen one growing.
