Yesterday was a very good mail day. The yarn that I had ordered for Andrea Mowry’s mystery arrived and I love it all! Often the, in real life, the yarns aren’t quite as I thought they would be based on the online images but these are going to work perfectly. Can’t wait for the first clue, which I think is the end of this month.
The yarn arrived for Addie’s sweater. This yarn is already caked up and I’m going to start knitting as soon as I finish the binding on Reciprocate. YES! I said Reciprocate! It is going to be finished tonight! I re-read the pattern and only had 5 rows of the border to do . . instead of the 14 I thought I had to do. I may finish two shawls in two days. I’m good! 🙂
OK . . enough about me. Here’s the yarn for Addie’s sweater. I’m kinda wishing I’d gotten pink instead of orange for the sheep but . . orange it is.
I think it was Thursday that ESK had a flash challenge where you could request something be drawn on your box. They were going to pick some of the packages and draw a picture. I had to order yarn . . so quickly because the order had to be placed by a certain time and I only saw the gimmick note about it a little while before it ended. In my haste to order 6 skeins of Madeinetosh Twist Light in Stormborn, I didn’t note what I planned to make with the yarn so . . here it sits, feeling a bit like a stepchild because I have no idea what it’s for. I’ll remember some day. The only clue I have is that I must have been going to make a sweater . . that’s about the only reason I would need six skeins.
So, I spent a bunch of money on six skeins of yarn and can’t remember what it’s to be used for but . . I did get a picture on my box!
My request was for a kitty sleeping under a Persian Dreams blanket.
I almost forgot that I don’t like cats! 🙂

I have the same problem, ordering yarn and then forgetting for which project it was intended. I was thinking of using the “notes” section on many order forms to write in the project name. That way when the yarn arrives, its written on the receipt and I can write it on the yarn band. Also if I find a ravelry pattern and favorite it, I add to the notes section possible yarns or recipients. Its tough to be organized, I just want to cast on and go.

I think I might know what you intend to use that yarn for, lol. Perhaps a neat sweater for me or maybe Vince. I would adore it but he may reign supreme. Oh well. Since when do you not like cats. The cat in your studio and Cat outside that you have made so much progress with. You are definitely a cat person. Want more? My cat had a liter July 27th and we have 8 we feed. Don’t know what she had this final time yet. Daddy is a tuxedo.
