Chad was just a toddler when he fell in love with Curious George so I got a 20″ stuffed Curious George for Addie when she was just a bit over 1-1/2 years old. I mostly did it to bring back memories for Chad but Addie fell in love with George and has barely let him out of her sight since getting him. He’s been washed, mended . . and she still rarely leaves home without him.
There’s George up in the big mesquite tree watching Addie swing.
Addie was in a little preschool at their last location and she wasn’t able to bring George with her to school so she would buckle him in the car, he would ride to school with them, and he’d be there waiting, all buckled in, when Nicole picked her up.
When Addie and I Started to leave Tuesday morning to go to my knitting group, to have lunch and to the grocery store, I said “Don’t forget George!” She looked at him and said “He wants to stay home and rest today.” I was shocked but . . she’s growing up and George may find himself staying at home and “resting” more as she grows up.
He has been a good friend to her for over three years and it’s been so cute but I’m happy to see that she won’t be devastated when she starts preschool and he cannot go with her.

My son had a stuffed Snoopy that went everywhere with him. I bet he still has it stashed somewhere!

hahaha …My youngest daughter who is 38 is getting a Sock Monkey tattoo Sunday as that guy was the favorite amongst my daughters and granddaughters. They would read Curious Geoge to Sock Monkey who always wanted to go on adventures!

My granddaughter has a pink stuffed pig she calls “Piggy” that has been her lovey since she was a baby. (She will soon be 6.) She leaves her (I was recently informed that Piggy is a girl) at home when she leaves the house, but she sleeps with her every night. My kids all had blankets of some kind as their lovey. When my youngest was 4 we made a “bumblebee quilt” together. It’s a brown and yellow zigzag pattern and he stood next to my sewing machine handing me the triangles as I pieced it. He still has it and keeps it with his pillow inside the pillow case on his bed. It’s threadbare and worn in places and I’ve offered to repair it for him, but he tells me it’s
“just perfect” the way it is!!
