Addie makes me feel old! I had bought her some CDs or DVDs and I keep saying “Let’s sit down and watch a video!” She says “VIDEO?? You mean DVD?” I was saying “same thing” but no, I’ve been corrected . . it is NOT the same thing! 🙂
The fan/light in the bedroom where Chad and Nicole sleep, there’s one switch for the light on the wall but you can pull a chain and turn the light off at the fan. Apparently they had pulled the chain and turned the light off at the fan last night so when Addie hit the light switch earlier, she said “Oh, no .. the batteries are dead!” I said “What batteries?” and she said “In the light!” I had no idea what light she was using that had batteries so I went into the bedroom and realized the chain had been pulled to turn off the light so the switch wasn’t turning it on and off.
It’s so funny to see and hear all the things that are common to kids these days that would have been so foreign to me at that age.

I just saw a headline that said something like “watch out, millennials! Generation Z is shaking things up.” So it doesn’t take much to be behind the times!

A few years ago, I was reading a book to my granddaughter, and she said, “Grandma, can you pause the story? I have to go to the bathroom.”

I used to work in an elementary school library and I was always amused when my small students would ask if they could “rent” this book.
