Vince was off yesterday so you know what that means — a trip to Walmart. I took a cart and headed to the grocery section. He took a cart and went somewhere else. When he met up with me, he’d found discounted bread. He had three different types of bread. All were marked down and all were “use by 7/24”. I would not have bought them because it’s so warm here that bread molds very quickly but . . he and I do things very differently.
One of them was garlic bread and it’s that kind of bread that’s drenched in garlic butter (and I use that term “butter” loosely). Last night he said “Do you want some garlic bread?” NO! I am not a huge garlic fan. He said “Do you want to heat up some?” NO! But you can!
He did and when he pulled it out of the oven, he declared it to be perfectly cooked and blogworthy!
Good job, Vince! I wonder what he wants to cook for dinner tonight! 🙂

Looks yummo, altho I’m not much of a garlic lover. A small amount is OK, but too strong I don’t like.

I love garlic bread and Vince cooked this perfectly. Definitely blog worthy! If I didn’t live so far away, I’d be over for a couple of pieces!

It does look good! Maybe he could make some lasagna to go with it next? Just throw the bread in the freezer. To use just thaw it in the microwave for a few seconds until it’s warm and it will be as good as new….not as good as homemade, but as good as it ever was. Or toast it. I do one or the other with all our bread. With just the two of us it would never get used before it went stale or moldy.

Looks like you will have more time to knit as long as you are willing to eat bread for every meal!

I must say it does look good. Did you give in and have any? Sometimes when I buy something like that, I freeze it immediately, and then I have it later. My bread stays in the refrigerator anyway, and my son keeps his on the counter. I’m always waiting for it to get moldy, but it seldom does. Probably would if I didn’t have air conditioning! LOL

I bought garlic bread yesterday, and we put some shredded meat on it for sandwiches and ate it for dinner last night. Tasty! I keep loaves of white bread in the freezer all the time, and just take out the slices I need. 15 seconds in the microwave, or let sit on the counter for a few minutes and they are ready. If I keep bread on the counter, it will mold, and in the fridge it gets stale.

Oh funny. I always set the timer when I put garlic bread under the broiler. My mom burns it 99% of the time because she doesn’t. We call it grandma bread. 🙂 Before my daughter learned to read, I put pics with names on my cell..so she could see who was calling…since my mom won’t let me take her pic, I used a picture of burned bread.
