A couple of nights ago we were watching TV and it ended up on Alton Brown’s cooking show and he was making yogurt. He, along with many people, used a bit of powdered milk in their yogurt making. I’ve tried it and don’t like using it but many people like it.
He has several recipes using the yogurt and they look really good. Today I made a batch of yogurt and tomorrow I’m going to try the Thousand Island Dressing.
You can find the recipes here. I’ll report after making the dressing.

I use organic sheep milk to make yoghurt. It comes out like Greek yoghurt. Thick and creamy. Goat milk is another choice. Once it’s strained it’s almost like sheep milk Greek but not quite.Goat milk is cheaper and easier to find. Milking a sheep is akin to milking a hamster.

My husband loves Alton Brown as he explains the science behind cooking. He has become a fanatic of late with his recipes. Many are good and a few wellllllll….lets just say I think if Alton would of made it; it would be good!! My hubs is not very good at following recipes as stated for the first time…haha
Have you ever watched Chef at Home with Michael Smith on ION TV?? He has some good easy recipes and my hubs can get away with a dash of this or that on the first time making the recipe.
